SmartSolo Scientific provides air quality and pollution monitoring systems built around rugged, low-power meteorological stations. These are in use at refineries, landfills, construction and remediation sites, and in many other locations where particulates, gases, or even odors need to be monitored. Measurements and data acquired by these systems can be used for compliance monitoring, alarming or notification, and air-quality and dispersion modeling.

Data Loggers for Air Quality Monitoring
Our monitoring station is based on a data logger (usually a M8000, M8300 or M1000). It measures information from sensors and then processes, stores and transmits the data. Our low-power data loggers feature a wide operating temperature range, configurable sampling intervals, and compatible with commonly used sensors.
As for the wind processing algorithms, this includes the Yamatino method of calculating the standard deviation of the wind direction, which is the standard configuration in the data logger instruction set.
Our data loggers can connect to most sensors directly without external signal conditioning.
Sensors, Analyzers, and Monitors
Our data loggers can virtually read and measure any weather sensor, which allows customization for each different site. Typical sensors used on our sites include, but are not limited to: Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Solar Radiation, Delta Temperature (SRDT), Air Temperature, Water Temperature, Soil Temperature, Relative Humidity, Precipitation, and Air Pressure. In some scenarios, hydrological sensors can also be used to provide additional measurements, such as the water quality of streams.
The data logger will measure the voltage directly and adjust it to the appropriate concentration in ppm or ppb. Commercially available gas analyzers can typically measure concentrations of SO2, H2S, O3, NOX, NO, NO2, CO, CO2, CH4 and THC (Total Hydrocarbon Content).
Data Retrieval
Our system provides multiple communication options for data retrieval, which can be used collaboratively within a single network. Telecommunications options include short-haul, telephony (landline, Text To Speech (TTS), mobile), Radio Frequency (RF), multipoint, and satellite, while on-site options include memory modules and laptops.
Software
Our PC-based support software simplifies the entire monitoring process from programming to data retrieval to data display and analysis. Our software's automated management capabilities are built on data retrieval across the network or individual sites, and robust error-checking ensures data integrity. Furthermore, we can also help you publish your data on the Internet.
