Australia: Effects of Elevated Carbon Dioxide Concentration and Climate Change on Savanna
SmartSolo Data Logger and Sensor Check CO2 Concentration and Climate Change

In Australia, an experimental facility  was set up to examine the effects of elevated carbon dioxide concentrations and climate change on savanna. The main objective is to study the effects of controlled and elevated CO2 concentrations on ecosystems under natural conditions.

The monitoring system has six identical experimental rings with a diameter of 15 meters. In each loop, solenoid valve and blower are used to control the input CO2 concentration of different concentrations. The two rings are 370 ppm; 460 ppm for two rings and 550 ppm for the other two rings; In each experimental ring, a variety of different treatments simulated different grazing and fertilization methods.Soil moisture, plant biomass, plant carbon content and soil carbon content will be measured independently to study the impact of increased CO2 content in the air on soil and plants.
