Norway: Bedrock Geological Exploration
The SmartSolo Scientific data acquisition system explores rock subdivisions, bedrock depth and sediment thickness, fractures, etc.

In seismic surveys, refraction seismic is commonly used to map the depth of bedrock. Reflection seismic, on the other hand, is often used to characterize various bedding features of geological structures and faults. Both techniques can provide a much larger image of the subsurface and greatly reduce the uncertainty of data results and exploration costs.

The data logger in the IAU-19 intelligent data acquisition system is an acquisition unit developed by SmartSolo Scientific that can be connected to various types of land and marsh geophones and hydrophones. By connecting different geophones, it can be applied to any seismic survey scene.

The universal interface design of the IAU-19 data logger allows it to connect directly to most geophones on the market, enabling Bluetooth QC via a field deployment tool (handheld or cell phone.) With a total weight of only 0.8 kg, it is small and flexible. Seismic acquisition can be easily performed even in the most challenging terrain or environments, truly enabling more reliable and simpler exploration in complex environments.

Recently, a well-known Norwegian geological exploration company used SmartSolo Scientific IAU-19 intelligent data acquisition system to complete a multi-scene seismic exploration project, and we share some of the exploration results below.

Case 1: Multi-channel Reflection Seismic in Water

A 500-meter-long section is shown below to describe the general geological context and determine the depth of the bedrock.

--Project purpose: 1. Determination of unconsolidated sediment thickness; 2. Depth of bedrock; 3. Identification of different rock layers;

Case 2: Refraction seismic

--Purpose of the project: 1. determination of unconsolidated sediments thickness; 2. depth of bedrock; 3. identification of weak or fractured areas; 4. 3D visualization, integrated with regional geology.

Case 3: Refraction Seismic

--Project purpose: 1. Determine the thickness of loose sediments based on regional geology; 2. 3D visualization of bedrock depth;
